Charity Writing
For the second year in a row, I’m writing for charity! Rhonda Parrish is a great writer and editor who yearly raises funds for charity, and I’m writing 5k in 8 days in support of a good cause. The cause in question: making sure everyone who wants to celebrate during these dark months has food to celebrate with.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Yule, Hanukkah (all of above if you live in my house), or another winter holiday, there’s nothing quite like celebrating with loved ones during the cold and dark. If you’d like to help your fellow people do the same, please consider donating here: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/giftmas-2025/
It’s been a rough year for a lot of people, and there’s a lot of darkness both real and metaphorical for us to get through. But together we can, and I’ll leave you with two things to help you along. First, my favorite seasonal song, “Solstice Carol”. And second, a short story I wrote a while ago. It features fictional queer magic users during World War II, as we’re not the first generation to see progress seem to fade before our eyes. There’s always hope for a better tomorrow, though, especially when we stand together in the dark.
